To be filled at grade FSN-07 OR at trainee grade FSN-06 with potential
for promotion to grade 7

WORK HOURS: Full-time; 40 hours/week
SALARY: *AEFM Not Ordinarily Resident: US$37,351.00 p.a. (Starting salary)
Or US$33,390.00 p.a. (training salary)
*EFM Not Ordinarily Resident: US$34,324.00 p.a. (Starting salary)
Or US$30,684.00 p.a. (training salary)
*Ordinarily Resident: N2,237,713 p.a. (Starting basic salary)
Or N1,702,800 p.a. (training salary)
In addition to the basic salary, all allowances will be paid
in accordance with the Mission Local Compensation Plan.

The U.S. Embassy in Abuja is seeking to employ a suitable and qualified candidate for the position of Human Resources Assistant in the Human Resources Office (HRO).
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
Incumbent serves as one of seven Locally Engaged Staff (LES) positions in the Human Resources Office which services all Americans and LES positions in Abuja and Lagos, comprising of over 550 LES positions and 188 American positions. Position provides various Human Resources functions, such as: LES Orientation, LES EPRs and personnel actions, Position Classification (CAJE), and may have additional duties such as processing FSN Health and Accident Insurance or Medical Reimbursement claims.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
NOTE: All applicants MUST address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each criterion or the application will not be considered.
FOR FSN-07:
1. A University degree in a Business or Social Sciences field is required.
2. At least three years’ experience in an office environment handling Human Resources or Administrative duties is required.
3. Level IV (Fluent) Speaking /Reading English Language is required.
4. Exposure to local employment and compensation laws is required.
5. Must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel packages, with at least level III typing ability (minimum of 40 WPM) is required.
FOR FSN-06:


1. All of the above EXCEPT at least two years’ experience in an office environment handling Human Resources or Administrative duties is required.

SELECTION PROCESS:
When equally qualified, Eligible Family Members and U.S. Veterans will be given preference. Therefore it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA:
1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
3. Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a FMA appointment are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of the employment.
4. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personnel Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
5. Current employees who are qualified will be given preference.
6. Only successful applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be notified.
7. The Human Resources Office will NOT accept applications or resumes submitted in U.S. Government official envelopes.
8. The minimum requirements must be adequately addressed in the cover letter of your application package. Failure to do so will disqualify your application.
